Glazimo documentation

Setup & updates

From your first installation to your next update. Practical guidance for the current development build.

01

What changes when you switch themes

Your Shopify data and your storefront design are different things.

  1. Products, collections, customers and orders stay in your existing Shopify store. Switching themes is not a migration to a new store.
  2. Sections, theme settings and custom code are not automatically transferred from another theme. Allow time to set up layouts and content in the new theme.
  3. Check app blocks, app embeds and tracking integrations individually. Back up your existing theme, keep it live for now and test Glazimo in unpublished preview.
02

Install your theme

Start in preview and keep your live storefront running.

  1. Download the released theme ZIP from your account. Keep the original package and its release notes.
  2. In Shopify, open Online Store > Themes and choose the ZIP upload option in the theme library. Do not unzip the theme package.
  3. Open Customize for your new, unpublished theme. Your active storefront stays unchanged while you set it up.
03

Set up your brand & content

Start with your identity and actual product data.

  1. Set your logo, colours and typography in theme settings. Choose a visual preset as your starting point.
  2. Create products, variants, collections and menus in Shopify. Demo products and photography are not imported automatically.
  3. Compose sections and blocks for home, product and campaign pages. Assign alternate templates to the appropriate products or pages in Shopify.
04

Configure selling features

The presentation and your actual Shopify rules need to agree.

  1. Match quantity offers to your Shopify discounts. Test every tier against actual cart totals.
  2. Match shipping rewards and gifts to shipping profiles, regions, currencies and discount rules.
  3. Subscriptions need an app with Selling Plans. Check app blocks and integrations individually in your store.
05

Check before switching

A complete store test is part of a good setup.

  1. Check navigation, search, filters, product images, variants and sold-out products on desktop and mobile.
  2. Test adding, removing and changing cart quantities, discount rules and the handoff to Shopify checkout.
  3. Add your own contact and legal information. Remove sample content. Back up your current theme and publish only when you are ready.
06

Prepare updates safely

Keep a working copy as your way back.

  1. Duplicate your current theme and back up custom code before beginning an update.
  2. Read the release notes. Upload the new version as a separate theme and carefully transfer the settings and content you need.
  3. Check the store again. Uploading a new theme ZIP does not automatically update your published storefront.

A closer look at the development build

Original captures of the homepage, product page and mobile cart are available. Three interactive design concepts explore possible brand directions; they are not separately published Shopify stores.

Before sales open: a final theme package, full release validation and confirmed licensing, pricing and support terms. We are not accepting preorders.

Final version-specific instructions will accompany the released theme package. Your Shopify subscription and store configuration are separate.
